LEGO Star Wars UCS Mos Eisley Cantina Coming Soon?

New rumors are coming out the LEGO is planning on releasing a LEGO UCS Mos Eisley Cantina set (75290). Not much details are out on what the set will come with. The set is rumored to be priced at $349.99 and expected to come with over 3,500 pieces. I’m curious to see what Minifigures we’ll get with this LEGO set.

  • I think this LEGO Star Wars 75290 will be a Mos Eisley Spaceport (Master Builder Series) which will capture the Cantina, part of the City and Docking Bay 94 to challenge the Death Star and Cloud City sets. After all an expensive LEGO playset deserves more than a scene from a film these days. As stated, expecting 20+ minifigures including C-3PO, R2-D2, Luke, Obi-Wan even though they were provided in recent sets along with the Landspeeder. They could also easily include a scaled down Millennium Falcon. I’ve seen some impressive MOC versions with a basic interior including swivel chair and computer console, dejarik game and seat, bed, hidden compartment and room for a minifigure in the cockpit that was almost half the size of Millennium Falcon sets. As well as the aforementioned minifigures this set needs to include Han, Chewie, Garindan and a couple of Sandtroopers for the escape scene. That leaves a selection of Cantina patrons including Greedo, Dr. Evazan, Ponda Baba (Walrus Man), Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead), Hem Dazon, Takeel/Zutton (Snaggletooth), Baniss Keeg, Muftak and of course Wuher the bartender. Lastly, comes the issue of how many Biths to include from the band Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes. According to reports there were 7 in total as some were hiding behind the front 5 band members. Let’s just see what they come up with in the final product. It might be asking too much for a moulded dewback, ronto and bantha. But if you had some sandy desert and rocky outcrops it could represent the view of Mos Eisley or Tusken Raider region. This all adds up to a massive brick count as mentioned up to 3,500 or more and they couldn’t possibly incorporate all of these ideas. However, if you’re going to create some of the most iconic Star Wars scenes in history, then they should do it justice. I think we’re all just hoping LEGO doesn’t release another Assault on Hoth (Ultimate Collector’s Series) style playset for Mos Eisley in Tatooine.
