MOC of the Week – May 4, 2012 – Deak Archives

May the 4th be with you!!! Yeah ha ha ha… ahem… uh… happy Star Wars day people! Now let’s get on to business.

Deak Archives” is what Fade . calls his fiery Clone Wars MOC.

Location: Mustafar

While searching for the missing squad on Alderaan, I can’t help, but remember how I got here. It all started when I was sent to Mustafar to lead a squad of Arf troopers to defend the GAR quadrant of Mustafar. Once I met these troops they lead me to the outpost, which was almost completely surrounded by molten lava. They told us about how Seperatist Spies were trying to intercept our secret database here and how we had to defend it with our lives. That seemed reasonable enough, but I just wondered how deadly these spies actually were.

That’s the story behind this MOC.

The creator apparently used rubber tubes to make the wall bend (very neat) and my favorite part by far is the lava. He uses trans-orange “cheese” slope bricks stuck to black plates, and (to me) it really has the color and look of real lava! (Now the question is…where does one obtain so many trans-orange cheeses?) And although the clone in the middle’s visor is not an official piece, I do like it and it goes very well in this vig. (And I never said the MOCs had to be completely purist, did I? :))

I hope you too enjoyed this MOC, and don’t forget to enter your own Lego builds in our Flickr group for a chance to be featured right here on BrickUltra!
