The UNSC is issued an old reptile with new fangs to sink its teeth into Covenant units as Mega Bloks Halo unleashes the UNSC Anti-Armor Cobra in all of its rail gun glory! Excitement doesn’t nearly cover what I’m feeling when finally – after 5 years – The UNSC Cobra has been given its own build by Mega Bloks Halo!
The Special Purpose-42 Main Battle Tank has always been one of my favorite units in Halo Wars – basically an agile rail gun on six wheels that can lock down and turn into an even larger rail gun. What’s not to like about that?
Look at the level of detail on this unit, imagine the Cobra rolling into action with independent front suspension, rumbling on big six rubber tires against an unsuspecting Covenant force. The cockpit under the rail gun turret opens to reveal the controls for your yellow Spartan Mark VI to sit and start blasting away at Covenant targets. The turret rotates a full 360°, has deployable side panels, and is where you’ll find the action button for the awesome lights and authentic, in-game sounds!
But can it lock-down? It wouldn’t be a Cobra if it couldn’t! The four reinforcement legs can be found on the sides and the back of the Cobra, the front lock-down shield plating lowers before the front tires, and the rear wheels fold up and away just like in the game. All that’s left for you to do is move the twin 30mm rail guns to the center of the turret to transform the Cobra from a twin 30mm rail gun tank to a 105mm rail gun destroyer.
By pressing down on the back of the turret, you will activate the awesome lights and in-game sounds that bring the Cobra to life. Press the button once and listen to the Cobra transform from one form to the next, then press it again and watch the rail gun light up and fire! In lock-down mode, press the action button to fire the 105mm cannon – only this time the Cobra lights up a powerful blue instead of the normal yellow!
The Anti-Armor Cobra also comes with a Covenant Type-29 Shade Turret to unleash its rail guns on. Although the impressive turret can rotate a full 360° and is known as a long range gun, the Cobra should be able to blast it without the gunner even knowing what hit it.
Included with the Anti-Armor Cobra are a yellow Spartan Mark VI, crimson Storm Elite and blue Brute Stalker. The Brute Stalker is new to the line, and his level of detail doesn’t disappoint. Don’t get me wrong, the Active Camo Brute Stalker is awesome, but with this Stalker you can actually see the little details, especially in the helmet, that makes it so cool. There’s just something about the Stalker’s helmet that makes me think, “Yup, this is one bad Baby Kong.”
The UNSC Anti-Armor Cobra is available now across North America. Have you picked one up yet? Let us know what you think of it in the comments below!
