In this section we help promote LEGO Cuusoo idea’s to help them reach the 10,000 likes needed for their idea to get created! This week we feature the idea called The Smurfs created by brickmania4u. Here’s what the creator had to say about the idea:

LEGO The Smurfs

Welcome to the magical world of the Lego Smurfs.

Originally created by the Belgian comics artist Peyo, these tiny blue fictional creatures proved to be so successful that a whole Smurf empire arose, going from the first Smurf comic in 1963 to hopefully a lego series 50 years later.

Because they have been around for 50 years I wanted to give them an appropriate anniversary gift: a lego series including their own cute mushroom houses and minifigures. And of course there’s always the villain: Gargamel and his cat Azrael.

I was quit surprised that Lego never picked up this theme, that allows lots of playable building sets. I didn’t base my creations on the 2011 animation movie The Smurfs but went back to it’s origin: the comic. It is there that I used my creativity to design some beautiful sets, however using only the bricks that I was allowed to in lego digital designer. Nevertheless, I hope I succeeded in honoring their 50th birthday.

LEGO The Smurfs

I created a Smurf town diorama, excisting of three mushroom houses, sheltered by a tree trunk with low vegetation.
A small stream of water runs through the root of the tree trunk and provides Baker Smurf’s mill mushroom with energy and water.

The Smurfs have build a bridge over the little waterstream and paved the areas around their mushrooms. They also have a small pond, surrounded by fences.

Designing Papa Smurf’s Mushroom:

I selected three completely different Smurf minifigures of which Papa Smurf is the first one. Being 542 years and skilled in making magical spells, I gave his mushroom a labo interior, including some chemical attributes. This mushroom set is made of approximately 400 pieces and comes with a Papa Smurf minifigure.

LEGO The Smurfs

Smurfette’s Mushroom:

The second Smurf minifigure is Smurfette, the only female smurf in town. Originally created by the evil Gargamel, Papa Smurf turned her into a real Smurf. Her mushroom house has a more girlfriendly interior.

All the mushroom houses have fire places or a stove, some kind of furniture and a bed on the first floor. The lightning is provided by two candles.

Again, I used about 400 lego pieces for this set and will contain a Smurfette minifigure.

LEGO The Smurfs

Baker Smurf’s mushroom:

The third and for now last Smurf is Baker Smurf, who provides the whole Smurf community with his bread and cakes. He lives and works in his Mill Mushroom house. It also has a bed but for a sneak peak on his beautiful oven I deleted it from the scene. The set is made of another 400 pieces and comes with a Baker Smurf minifigure.

LEGO The Smurfs

Last but not last I had to design a diorama with Gargamel’s house on top of a rock.

However, the lego Gargamel set would only consist of his opening house with a Gargamel and Azrael minifigure. I based my creation upon his house in the original comic series.

I do hope to get lots of support so we can smurf these sets into real lego sets!

Great idea….but sadly Mega Bloks already have the Smurfs licensed and are already producing Smurfs sets and have been for the past few years. 🙁
