In this section we help promote LEGO Cuusoo idea’s to help them reach the 10,000 likes needed for their idea to get created! This week we feature the idea called “Project: Metroid” created by Zurtech. Here’s what the creator had to say about the idea:

Welcome to Project Metroid. I have made this project with more hopes for another Nintendo game will be immortalised in Lego. I have made four sets themed on the Metroid game series. All have been made within Lego Digital Designer. Please excuse the detail on the minifigs, they’re mainly there as an example and would not represent the final product.

Information about the project:
As I have designed the current sets/models within Lego Digital Designer, all parts and colours are currently in manufactions I would assume.

To make Samus, Zero Suit Samus, Mother Brain and Samus’ Starship, exclusive detailing would be needed, I would assume however that he cuusoo team are prepared for these instances.

The Varia Suit Samus mini figure would need detailing on her chest (front and back), legs (front and sides) and possibley her arms, the LDD items named “Mini Visor 2” and “Helmet W.03.2 Shaft At Front”, and finally Samus’ face printed on the standard Minifig head.

Mother Brain would ideally have a printed eye on a “Parabolic Reflector 024×6,4”, although in LDD I have currently used an extra two pieces for the detail, but I tihnk they look a bit too big from side views. She would also need some “brain” detail printed on or in sticker form and placed on sections of the pieces used to make her.

Zero Suit Samus would use the standard Minifig torso while the Varia Suit Samus could be made using the LDD item “Mini Upper P. W/Arm Cor.Knob”.

The only major hurdle I could see, with exception to getting the support and licencing needed, would be the new mould for Samus’ Varia Suit Shoulders and chest. I personally would have this one mould as with exsisting parts, that slots over the head post. I’d have this moulded in orange plastic and the chest and back painted red, with detailing added over the top. I would have it made smooth so it can be made of use in other Sci-fi sets wether they be cuusoo or not, afterall who can’t find a use for fun rounded spacey shoulderpads. -_^

I have added a Ridley set, and altered each set so they have a little more winthin each. I have also added Space Pirates, Zoomers and Skree. As well as the odd weapon pack.

The Sets:
I have designed four sets, the details on each is as follows:

Metroid Lab
This is a smaller set consisting of Zero Suit Samus, two Space Pirates, a computer terminal with incubation tanks and a doorway. The set consists of 212 existing bricks and all colours used are found within LDD.

Mother Brain
This is a medium set consisting of Varia Suit Samus, two Space Pirates, a small Metroid, a large Metroid, a platform and Mother Brain. This set consists of 336 existing bricks and colours are currently found within LDD. This set would also need the unique Varia Suit Shoulder item.

Samus’ Starship
This is the largest of the sets, and consists of Varia Suit Samus, one small Metroid, one Zoomer, one Skree and Samus’ Starship. The set is made from 538 existing bricks and colours found within LDD, and again would need the unique Varia Suit Shoulder item.

Ceres Spacestation Attack
This set is another small one, featuring Varia Suit Samus, Ridley, a small Metroid and the console. It consists of 214 exsisting bricks and colours found within LDD, and again it would need the unique Varia Shoulder item.

Thanks for viewing Project Metroid. Please support this project if you too would like to see Lego sets of the Metroid games.
